About Me
I have been providing quality and personalized legal representation for the past 15 years and have practiced exclusively in the area of family and matrimonial law for the past 10 years. I have substantial experience handling complex divorce and paternity cases from inception to mediation and/or trial.
I understand the particular needs of each client and zealously advocate to advance the client’s and children’s best interest during all stages of the litigation.
As an experienced family law practitioner, I have litigated hundreds of cases, appearing in court in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County.
I also believe in alternative dispute resolutions such as the mediation process and collaborative law process, both of which allow clients greater autonomy to decide their own fate while minimizing the expense and trauma of litigation to themselves and their children.
I work extensively with other professionals, such as forensic accountants, real property and personal property appraisers, vocational rehabilitation experts, mental health professionals, realtors and other legal counsel to provide the most comprehensive legal representation when necessary.
Additionally, I enjoy giving back to the community by providing pro bono legal services through the “Put Something Back” Program offered through Miami-Dade County Legal Aid Services. I have served as counsel to litigants as well as a Guardian Ad Litem, protecting and providing a voice for children caught in their parents’ legal battles.
Finally, I am a frequent guest speaker at Florida International University. Lecture topics have covered a wide range of family law matters but specifically focus on real property issues in divorce cases.
I obtained my juris doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law in 2000. I started my legal career as a criminal defense attorney where I was able to develop trial advocacy skills over the course of 5 years. In 2005, I became the senior associate at a prestigious boutique law firm where I practiced exclusively family and matrimonial law. I have continuously dedicated my time and talents to helping those in difficult family court matters. I am a native Spanish speaker and conversational in French.
